Chinese water color are slightly different from western ones.

They allow wet mouting of the rice paper without bleeding. When dry on the paper they cannot be diluted again to mix with other color on the paper. Consequently they allow to superpose transparents layers of colors as it is necessary in "Gong Bi" painting.
